Design Week México

Design Week México - Debbie Bean

I came home from delivering a project on Tuesday afternoon and booked a ticket to CDMX for a flight out the next morning to catch Design Week México. What followed was fast, dense, and completely inspiring. A whirlwind trip of less than three full days meant packing in everything I could. From a Michelin-star dinner to late-night street tacos, I traversed the city nonstop with friends and colleagues, logging over 18,000 steps a day and loving every minute of it.

Mornings started at Panadería Rosetta, along with what felt like everyone else in town. File under worth the hype and experience. I moved between highlights like AGO Projects and Feria Territorio, where material intelligence and regional voices took center stage. Walking as much as possible allowed me to absorb the architecture, the people, and the smell of food cooking on sidewalks from the moment I stepped out of my hotel each morning.

It was the ideal trip after a deeply immersive few weeks in the studio. A reminder of how essential it is to step outside the work in order to return to it with clarity. I came home reinvigorated, ready to dive back into my next commissions with renewed energy.
