UNFOLD Projects, in partnership with ICA San Diego, is pleased to present Exhibition 01: We Must Imagine it, the first iteration of an exhibition series exploring regenerative materials and processes in art and design.

My triptych for the show began last year as an idea for a series of fused glass color fields. Over the past several months, through iteration, testing, studio visits, and conversations around the work, it shifted into something more physical and structural: a cast glass triptych built to be experienced from multiple sides.

Each piece holds a different kind of landscape. From the front, the glass reads like terrain, textured, accumulated, and shaped by heat. From the side, it becomes almost geological, like a cross-section of earth. The back offers a quieter surprise, with fields of color that feel closer to painting, somewhere between Rothko, the Bauhaus school, and the internal life of the material itself.

The process is regenerative by design. Remnants from previous projects, glass wafers, and fragments created throughout the process were carried forward from one firing to the next. Nothing moved in a straight line. Each stage became material for what followed.

This is the first time I am publicly showing cast glass, and it feels like a real threshold in my practice, not a departure from stained glass, but an expansion into a larger material language.
