La Jolla Residential
This piece began as many of my commissions do, distilling a wide range of references into a composition that holds the original intent while bringing clarity and cohesion, without becoming derivative.
To make this piece truly one of a kind, I incorporated a long out of production sheet of Bullseye glass. I then built out the composition using a mix of glass from different manufacturers, introducing varied textures that echo the movement of the design.
The result is a vibrant composition that responds to both the ocean setting and the midcentury architecture it lives within. This is where residential commissions come into focus, where the work is clearly my own, yet entirely specific to the space it was made for.
