LOVE SONG

Every commission begins with a gesture of trust. For this piece, Kelly Bayett approached me with the idea of creating a stained glass panel as a gift for Daniel Wolfe. She shared only a few casual photographs of his home and gave me complete creative freedom to imagine something that would feel at once personal and timeless.

From the photos, I noticed a mural of native plants and an affinity for natural, grounded colors. I followed that intuition and selected earthy tones of Bullseye Glass to echo those details. The design took shape first as a quick sketch in Illustrator, then was expanded and refined on my light table until the composition felt alive. The finished panel can hang on a wall or glow in a window, shifting in presence as the light changes, much like the plants and spaces that inspired it.

I am grateful to Kelly for the freedom and trust to create a piece that honors another artist. Commissions like this remind me of the role stained glass can play in celebrating connection, creativity, and place.
