SEA RANCH ELECTROTHERAPY
When LAUN invited me to create a stained glass panel for their Newport project Electrotherapy, the design immediately felt familiar. I have spent several years returning to The Sea Ranch, walking its trails and studying how the architecture and landscape dissolve into one another. That quiet balance between geometry and nature became the foundation for this piece, a dialogue between the coastal light I know so well and the home's sculptural lines.
In the studio, the panel began as layered pencil drawings, then slowly took form in sheets of glass, cut, leaded, and soldered into fluid lines of amber and blue floating in a field of clear seedy glass. The design recalls Sea Ranch's pathways and streams, translated into color and movement. Once installed, the glass filters light in a way that feels both grounded and oceanic, connecting the home to the natural world outside.
This project reflects how architecture and memory continue to shape my approach to material within my practice.
