WATERCOLOR PET PORTRAITS

Years ago, when I embarked on my journey into photography, I dared to focus on a subject my teachers advised against; my beloved dog. I was warned that while we all see our pets as extraordinary, few manage to capture that uniqueness in a way that resonates with others. All I heard was an invitation to take the ordinary and create something extraordinary.

The results spoke for themselves: straight A's, handpicked inclusion in a prestigious faculty-curated show, awards, scholarships, and admission to top art schools, all because I refused to shy away from what inspired me most.

Now, as I explore a new artistic direction through watercolor, I find myself once again drawn to the deeply personal; this time, capturing the essence of my cat Hannah and her late siblings. This renewed journey into pet portraiture feels like a full-circle moment, blending my past successes with a fresh, invigorating approach.

I am now taking a limited number of commissions. You can see more examples of this new series and an online submission form here!
