Prelude SF Visit

My visit to San Francisco was brief, but it carried a sense of completion. After years in development, I finally had the chance to see my stained glass installation for Prelude in person. An intimate restaurant by AvroKO within The Jay Hotel. Designed in collaboration with AvroKO and Sergio Mondragón, the panels were conceived as a spatial divider, and backdrop for both the main and private dining room.

Each glass panel shifts in tone and intensity with the light, moving from a soft, clouded opacity to a glowing translucency as light crosses the room. Viewed from the main dining floor, they lend a diffused, atmospheric rhythm to the architecture. From the private dining room, they reveal a layered depth inspired by eucalyptus leaves and the natural palette of the Presidio.

Experiencing the space firsthand was moving. Chef Celtin Andrew’s thoughtful dishes and the energy of his team created an atmosphere that felt alive, reminding me that glass, like food, transforms with light and time. Seeing my work exist in conversation with his was deeply gratifying.
